MelbourneFuneralServices.com is an independent educational resource created to help families understand funeral, cremation, memorial, burial and preplanning options in Melbourne and Brevard County, Florida.
What we do, and what we do not do
We publish plain-language guides, local resource lists and free planning tools. We are not a funeral home, crematory or cemetery. We do not transport, embalm or cremate, file death certificates, conduct services or sell funeral merchandise, and we are not licensed to do so. Those services are provided by licensed funeral establishments.
Our mission
When someone dies, families often have to make expensive, permanent decisions within days, usually without knowing what is required by law, what is optional and what things cost. Our goal is to give Melbourne-area families clear answers first, so they can have confident conversations with the professionals they choose.
Commitment to accurate information
- Legal and regulatory statements are checked against primary sources: the Florida Statutes, the Florida Department of Financial Services, the Florida Department of Health, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration.
- We cite sources on the page so you can check them yourself.
- We use ranges and national benchmarks for costs rather than inventing local prices.
- We correct errors promptly. See our editorial standards.
Local focus
We concentrate on Melbourne, West Melbourne, Palm Bay, Eau Gallie, Indialantic, Satellite Beach and the rest of Brevard County: local hospitals and hospice programs, the District 18 Medical Examiner, Brevard County offices, local cemeteries and Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Brevard County funeral resources.
How this site is funded: sponsor disclosure
MelbourneFuneralServices.com is sponsored by Buggs Funeral Home & Crematory, our featured funeral home partner. Buggs pays to be featured on this website, which is why you will see its name, phone number and links throughout the site. The sponsorship pays for the site; it does not buy editorial control over our guides.
- Educational content is written to be accurate and useful whichever funeral home you choose.
- Information about Buggs services comes from the funeral home itself and is labeled as such.
- We do not publish prices for Buggs or any provider. Ask any funeral home for its General Price List.
- Other funeral providers mentioned on this site have no commercial relationship with us.
We also earn small commissions from some product links (for example, Amazon). See our affiliate disclosure.
